A Planner on Skopelos or One From Athens?

A Planner on Skopelos or One From Athens?

We are a wedding planner on Skopelos, so read this knowing which side we are on. It is still a fair question, and the honest answer depends on what you need.

What changes when the planner lives on the island

We are the Lemonis family, born and living on Skopelos. We have run the Vrachos bar since 2016 and planned weddings here since 2017. The people who answer your first email are the people running the evening itself.

    • The venues are ours. A planner from Athens can book many venues across Greece, but not The Castello or Vrachos. Those can only be booked through us.
    • One family, not a chain of suppliers. Because we are the planner and the venue, you are not passing messages between a planner, a venue, a caterer and a bar.
    • The whole stay, not only the day. Welcome dinner, a Greek night, boat days, the wedding and a farewell dinner, with a personal concierge for you and your guests while you are here.
    • Paperwork with the local town hall. For a civil wedding, we handle the documents with Skopelos Town Hall, translations included.

Anything off our premises, such as transfers, boats, photography, hair and makeup, is arranged by us and carried out by licensed local partners. We say so up front, because it matters who is actually doing the work.

When a planner from Athens may suit you better

If you are still choosing between islands, or between an island and the mainland, a planner who works across Greece can compare them for you. We can only tell you about Skopelos. And if you want your wedding in more than one place, a planner who covers several regions is the more natural fit.

One thing to know before you ask us

We usually plan the weddings at our venues ourselves. Being the planner as well as the venue is how we can look after the whole stay, so it is the way we work best. If you already have a planner you want to keep, talk to us anyway, and we will tell you honestly what would work.

    Questions worth asking any planner

    • Do they own or run the venue, or are they booking it from someone else?
    • Who will actually be there on the day?
    • Which services are done by their own team, and which by partners?
    • Who deals with the town hall for the legal paperwork?
    • Can they show you the venue on a video call if you cannot visit first?

We can do that last one: we plan with couples over video calls and send video of both venues, so you do not need to visit before the wedding. Tell us about your plans and we will tell you plainly whether we are the right fit.
