Vrachos Bar
Where the Sky Meets the Aegean
A cliffside terrace about a hundred steps above the old port, with 240° views of the Aegean. The bar has been here since July 1992, and our family has run it since 2016: a relaxed lounge by day, cocktails and music by night.

The Chapel
The Chapel of the Holy Apostles on Vrachos is dating back to the 11th century and is one of the oldest on the island.
The traditional Christian wall paintings that decorate the interior of the church are exquisite and has a wooden carved iconostasis.
The chapel is said to have been built over an ancient pagan temple dedicated to the goddess Athena, one of the island's major deities.
The chapel is still in use. Services are held there over the three days of the feast of the Holy Apostles, in the last days of June.

The Terrace
The terrace is about 150 square metres, shaded by tall mulberry trees.
The terrace covers around 150 square metres and seats up to 200 guests.
How many guests it holds depends on how it is laid out, up to 200.
Panoramic View
A VIEW FROM ABOVE
From the terrace you see the old port, the Panagitsa church and the pines behind the town, with 240° of open sea.
The unique experience offered by the "ranging colours of deep green of the pine forest surrounding the town and the elegant blue of the sea during the day, to the brilliant rose/pink and orange of the sky at dusk."

Getting here
Finding Vrachos
Vrachos is reached on foot, up 108 stone steps in the old town. The steps begin next to the town hall.
It may sound like a lot, but people of all ages make the climb without much trouble, at their own pace.
If someone in your party may find the steps difficult, tell us when you get in touch.

What Our Couples Say
"Had the most incredible wedding ceremony here. Mina and her whole family were extremely kind and accommodating start to finish. They treated us like family and made sure the day went as best as possible. We had 200 people and they were all in awe of the location. We had great cocktails before and after the ceremony. I would highly recommend having your dream wedding here."
"Vrachos was the most perfect place to have our wedding ceremony… Best cocktails on the island."
"A wonderful wedding in the most beautiful part of the island: Vrachos! Impeccable service."
Climb the stone steps and the town opens up below you: the harbour, the pine-covered hills, and the Aegean beyond. It holds up to 200 guests, and the 11th-century chapel of Agioi Apostoloi stands beside the terrace.
Skopelos Town faces east, so this is not a place to watch the sun drop into the sea. But as evening comes, the lights of the town come on below and the sailing boats return to the harbour for the night. Then the bar takes over: signature cocktails made with fresh fruit, homemade lemonade and limoncello, and music until 1:00 a.m.
The rock
A meeting place before it was a bar
The area is called Vrachos, which means “rock” in Greek, after the large rock the terrace sits on. You can see it from the town beach. Long ago it ran all the way down to the sea and divided the beach in two.
People met on this rock long before there was a bar here, or any other business.
The bar opened in July 1992. It has been in our family since 2016. We have kept it what it was: a place to sit above the port, with cocktails made from fresh fruit and lemonade and limoncello made every day. Since 2017 it has also been a place where couples marry.
